Jennifer Garner: I bought daughter's mermaid tale
Jennifer Garner has never seen Ben Affleck as happy as he was after The New England Patriots won the 2015 Super Bowl.
The 42-year-old actress and her husband of nearly ten years, Ben Affleck, are parents to little girls Violet, nine, and Seraphina, six, and three-year-old son Samuel.
During an appearance on Jimmy Fallon's talk show last night, the mother-of-three shared some advice with the host on how to handle his young daughters getting older. One thing she warned to look out for was how quickly kids can get clever, especially when it comes to dealing with a new arrival.
"They're all gonna go nuts when there's a new baby, right, one way or another - if it isn't now, it's gonna be later, it's coming. We had one who wanted to still be the baby but she never wanted to say, 'I want to still be the baby,' but she'd wanted to be carried everywhere," she explained. "So what she was telling us was that she was a mermaid and she had a tail and she had flippers and she needed to be carried everywhere. And we bought it, and suddenly I'm lugging this huge kid around and I saw her smiling to herself, smirking, and I realised she just... We would get to a staircase and she'd just say, 'Oh my tail, what with my flippers I can't make it up that staircase.'"
She and Ben are often spotted out with their brood and enjoy spending time together as a family. But during the Super Bowl last month Jennifer was happy to let her hubby support his hometown team, Boston's New England Patriots, without her.
She stayed at home and took on kiddie duties after a situation with the babysitter meant she couldn't join Ben, and was amazed by his reaction after the Patriots emerged successful.
"Dude, there were tears, it was seriously... it was like the greatest moment of his life. It actually was though. I birthed babies for him and I still have never seen just the pure joy - really! You know?" she grinned.
