Jennifer Lawrence: I'm growing a beard
Jennifer Lawrence will be sporting a beard in The Hunger Games sequel.
The first instalment in the movies based on Suzanne Collins' novels has exceeded expectations at the box office. After raking in over $214 million worldwide in its opening weekend, talk has turned to the follow-up film Catching Fire.
Jennifer stars as teenage heroine Katniss Everdeen in The Hunger Games, and has joked that she will look very different in the next movie.
"The training was never, like, tough. It was intense, but it was fun. So I'm looking forward to the next bout of training," Jennifer told MTV News. "For the second one, I will have a beard."
Catching Fire will follow what happens to Katniss and fellow District 12 resident Peeta Mellark after winning The Hunger Games. Their victory has inspired poorer districts to rise up against the Capitol, but the pair are forced to return to the arena for a special edition of The Hunger Games.
Director Gary Ross has some ideas about how to shoot the next instalment in the franchise. However, he is refusing to give away too many details just yet.
"In terms of the cinematic differences in the way I might shoot the movie, I shot this in a very specific way that's very different than most franchises are shot, obviously, and that had a lot to do with the urgency of what's going on and Katniss' point of view," Gary explained. "I have some ideas about how to do Catching Fire slightly differently, but I don't want to share them yet. Not because I'm being evasive, but just because they're not fully baked. But yes, I think it will look and feel slightly different from the first."
Catching Fire is expected to be released in November 2013.
