Jennifer Lawrence is 'goofball' on set
Jennifer Lawrence is "50 percent goofball, 50 percent Academy Award nominee," says her The Hunger Games co-star.
The actress stars as heroine Katniss Everdeen in the upcoming post-apocalyptic adventure film. Jennifer's co-star Dayo Okeniyi says the beauty is a joy to work alongside as she strikes the perfect balance between working hard and not taking herself too seriously.
"Jen is 50 percent goofball, 50 percent Academy Award nominee," he gushed to e! Online.
"Right before a take, she'd be like 'Oh your fly's undone,' then Gary [Ross, director] would say 'Action' and then she'd just go into Meryl Streep mode! And I'm like, 'How do you do that?!'"
The Hunger Games is based on the bestselling novel by Suzanne Collins. Dayo says Jennifer's maturity with taking on such a highly-anticipated film project is impressive.
"She doesn't take herself too seriously. You would never know for one day she's carrying this movie on her shouldersShe's really talented and deserves everything that's happening for her," he said.
Dayo says absolute devotion from the cast and crew has been poured into making the best big screen adaptation of The Hunger Games.
"We tried to make the best version of Suzanne Collins book we could make. I don't think Lionsgate or Gary Ross set out to make the next Twilight and we felt that on set," he explained.
"Gary was always about the story, about the characters, always about the heart."
The Hunger Games is released in cinemas worldwide from next month.
