Jennifer Lawrence terrified of Oscars
Jennifer Lawrence admits thinking about the upcoming Oscars ceremony gives her an “anxiety attack”.
The actress has received a best actress nomination for her performance in Silver Linings Playbook. She admits the success of the movie still hasn’t sunk in yet, and she is already feeling nervous about attending the glitzy Academy Awards ceremony later this month.
“I am having an anxiety attack. It is exciting obviously, but it is just really anxiety when I think about it. I mean good anxiety, maybe, a little half and half. I am scared!” Jennifer laughed to UK TV show Lorraine. “[Awards season] does go by so fast. I think that afterwards hopefully I will get to absorb it. But hopefully I will just calm down, that is going to be step one, ‘Calm down Jennifer’.”
The 22-year-old star previously attended the Oscars in 2011, when she landed another best actress nomination for Winter’s Bone. Although she appeared calm and composed when she arrived at the prestigious event, Jennifer insists she was terrified. She is determined to learn from her previous experiences and remain in control of her emotions on February 24.
“The last time I got on that red carpet I lost my mind, so this time I am not going to drink any caffeine that day - except coffee - and I am going to calm down and centre myself,” she joked.
Jennifer has sparked health concerns recently, after she was diagnosed with walking pneumonia and had to pull out of an awards ceremony last month.
However, she looked stunning as she was named best actress at the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards last weekend and insists she is on the mend.
“I’m very good. It was walking pneumonia, but I am OK, I went to the doctor and got a chest X-ray. I thought it looked great but I will get the results later. In my opinion I am much better,” she quipped.
