Jennifer Lopez 'sad for Cruise and Holmes'

Jennifer Lopez

Jennifer Lopez hopes that Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise are at "peace in their decision" to divorce.

Katie Holmes filed for divorce from the actor at the end of June and the former couple have recently reached a settlement on their annulment. The pair share six-year-old daughter Suri together and Tom has two children with his ex-wife Nicole Kidman, Isabella and Connor.

Jennifer split from her husband Marc Anthony in 2011 and the pair are parents to twins Max and Emme.

Jennifer feels for the plight that Katie and Tom's loved ones are going through.

"You know I just wish them, you know, peace in their decision," she told ET Online. "And really for Suri and their other children as well, because you become such a family, it's not just Suri, it's Connor and Isabella and everybody, you know, you all become a family. And when that breaks apart, nobody wins, everybody's heartbroken in some way."

Jennifer admits that she couldn't believe the couple ended their marriage.

"I heard about it when I was in South America and I was stunned," she shared.

"I'm sad for them. They're both really lovely people, and just like Marc and I, it's not what you want to happen. You fight and you try until you realise you can't anymore."
