Jessica Chastain: Lawrence feud fib

Jessica Chastain confirmed on the Academy Awards red carpet that she and fellow actress Jennifer Lawrence are very friendly with each other despite rumours to the contrary.
The two highly lauded actresses were both nominated at this year’s Academy Awards.
Ahead of the ceremony speculation was rife that the pair were at odds with one another.
Jessica completely discounts these rumours.
"[Jennifer] came up to me at a party the other night and she goes, 'I hear we're in a supposed feud,' 'cause someone showed her that I had wrote a thing on Facebook that was like basically 'You all need to step back, there's no feud. She's awesome, she's talented' and 'Stop,' ” she recalled to MTV News.
"I don't [like girl fights]. I think the image of women like cats, this catty thing, I don't find that to be true. So I'm not interested in keeping up the myth. Unless it's for a movie. A girl fight in a movie is fun.”
Although she was nominated in the Best Supporting Actress category for her role in The Help last year, she wasn’t the winner.
Jessica was also in disbelief about taking home an Oscar this year, a hunch that came to fruition.
"Honestly I never think I'm gonna win,” she said.
“I don't think I'm gonna win tonight, so my nerves are a little like, it's more butterflies and excitement of being here. It's incredible when so many people say what an amazing year for women it's been. But also you think about Marion Cotillard, a performance in Rust and Bone I loved, and she didn't get nominated. So you never know what the Oscars formula is. I just know when I see a performance like hers in Rust and Bone or Jennifer Lawrence in Silver Linings Playbook, Emmanuelle Riva or Quvenzhane [Wallis] and Naomi Watts, that's what is inspiring to me. It makes me want to be better."
