Jessica Simpson has 'heavenly' bash
Jessica Simpson's birthday was particularly special on Tuesday because it was her "first time as a mom."
The 32-year-old singer-turned-fashion mogul welcomed daughter Maxwell Drew on May 1 and she invited all of her friends over to spend time with her little one and to indulge in a fancy backyard dinner party.
Earlier in the day Jessica had gone for lunch at the Polo Lounge but then she had a more intimate gathering last night.
"Jessica was in heaven because she was celebrating for the first time as a mom!" a friend told People magazine. "And Maxwell got to make a short appearance in her Fendi white dress."
Rachel Ashwell designed the party décor which was made up of vintage china, lots of candles, fresh flowers and a chandelier over the covered swimming pool.
Jessica is currently the spokeswoman for Weight Watchers in her bid to shed her post pregnancy pounds.
But sources told the publication that guests indulged in calorific dishes likes gnocchi with brown butter sage and pappardelle with yellow tomato sauce. This was followed up by short ribs with basil pesto pecorino and chili and pan-seared snapper.
The dessert menu was laden with mini s'mores, pudding pies in mini mason jars and banana brown betties with ginger snap crumble.
