Jessica Simpson ‘recording new album’

Jessica Simpson is reportedly coming back to music three years since the release of her last album.

The 33-year-old singer took time off from recording to start a family with fiancé Eric Johnson.

According to celebrity website Naughty But Nice Rob, the mother-of-two is now working on her first album since her 2008 country music flop Do You Know and 2010’s holiday album Happy Christmas.

“Jessica loves to sing,” a source said.

“Singing is why she got into the entertainment business and something she will never stop doing. She is excited to start recording songs that she wants to record.”

Apparently Jessica is looking forward to taking the reins on her new record.

Fourteen years after recording her first album, Sweet Kisses, she finally has creative freedom.

“At this point in her career, she no longer has to worry about singing songs a record label or [her former manager] dad tells her to record,” the insider said.

“She can sing whatever makes her happy, and that is exactly what she intends to do.”

Jessica shares 16-month-old daughter Maxwell and two-month-old son Ace Knute with former professional football player Eric.

She recently opened up about the hard work that comes with motherhood.

"With two kids, we have our hands full, but every day is a new adventure," she told Us Weekly. "It's fun! I feel very at peace with being a mom."

She isn't planning to expand her brood anytime soon and admitted having two children in quick succession has been tough.

"Pregnancy is a lot. It was hard to do two so close together," she confessed. "I have this huge sense of accomplishment, and I feel in my heart that I'm done. But obviously, accidents do happen!"
