Jessie J finances revealed

Jessie J has struggled to make a profit despite enjoying a hugely successful music career, it has been revealed.

Documents filed at London's Companies House and taking in the 12 months up to August 2011 show the Price Tag singer was almost £20,000 in the red.

The figures may look surprising considering the star had a string of chart-topping hits and appeared on TV show The X Factor as a guest mentor.

"Jessie's first-year figures aren't great but quite often royalties from sales and radio play take a while to come through. Until last summer, she had played mostly relatively small gigs and been hampered by a leg injury," a source told British newspaper The Sun.

According to the files Jessie had £360,000 in the account of her concert firm Who You Are Touring and was owed £210,000. But another of her companies, Who You Are Ltd., made just £387 and the songwriter had to pay creditors £590,000.

However, the insider added that the music sensation has turned around her finances thanks to sponsorship deals and her lucrative job as a mentor on talent show The Voice UK.

"These days Jessie has deals with drink firm Vitamin Water and MasterCard, plus her fees from this year's No1 single Domino and her work on The Voice have delivered serious boosts to her bank balance," the source explained.
