Jewel going on vocal rest
Jewel plans to go on vocal rest after her show Saturday night but is worried healing her voice will be a huge challenge with a two-year-old needing her attention.
The 39-year-old singer is currently promoting her Greatest Hits album with a US tour.
It appears back-to-back shows have overworked her voice.
The Who Will Save Your Soul hitmaker apologised to fans on Twitter before her performance in Chandler, Arizona Saturday night admitting she was worried about her vocal health.
“My throat is so hoarse-never dealt w this before-feels sprained. i know I have sum hard core's coming 2night- dont hate me for a casual set!” she wrote (sic).
Jewel was back on the micro-blog minutes later confessing she couldn’t wait to go on vocal rest and re-charge.
She issued a warning to other ticket-holders and admitted getting the time she needs to heal would be a challenge with a demanding toddler to look after.
“Will do my best to cobble some good singing together-thank heavens for 5 days of vocal rest bfore my next leg. Vocal rest w a 2yr old? Ha!” she mused (sic).
Jewel shares 23-month-old Kase with her professional cowboy husband Ty Murray.
The star has little time to relax between family time and touring.
According to the schedule on her website, Jewel is next scheduled to play in New Philadelphia, Ohio on June 14, followed by back-to-back shows in Michigan and Illinois the following two days. She’s scheduled to play two shows in Milwaukee June 18 and 19 and another show in Iowa on June 20 before finally getting a four-week break.
Her Greatest Hits tour is scheduled to close out with shows July 18 and 19 in Napa, California.
