Joe Jonas' friends reportedly think Gigi Hadid will break his heart.

The stars have been linked romantically after Gigi split from Cody Simpson last month, but Joe's rep has claimed they are just good friends.

However sources close to the pair say it's a lot more than that, with 25-year-old Joe reportedly wanting to make things official.

"Joe really wants to move forward to the next level - being a serious boyfriend/girlfriend,” an insider told New York Daily News. “But she says that she just got out of a relationship so she’s not ready - but he’s in love with her.

"He sends her flowers and says how hot she is and talks about her all the time. He thinks she’s gorgeous and wants to date her exclusively. She just wants to have fun and casually date. His friends think she’s going to break his heart.”

The pair were spotted out and about at the weekend, with onlookers even catching the pair in a steamy embrace in New York.

They've been friends for a long time, but insiders say Gigi, 20, isn't ready for another serious relationship yet.

"They hang out and make out. They’re dating, going out to dinner. They’re cute and affectionate together. But it’s more of a rebound in her mind," the source commented.

“They dated a while back as well, but Gigi broke up with Joe before she started dating Cody. Joe always cared about her since he got dumped and thinks she’s just the most gorgeous girl."
