Joel Madden champions ‘organic’ music

Joel Madden

Joel Madden is using Twitter to support local and unsigned artists.

The rocker is best known as the lead vocalist of Good Charlotte, his band with twin brother Benji. Joel is also a mentor on the Australian version of The Voice.

The singer bagged a prestigious Logie Award recently for his work on the TV talent show and is now keen to help up-and-coming artists get noticed in the industry.

"Who is your favorite Local or Unsigned Artist?" he wrote on his Twitter account.

"People replying with their favorite local or unsigned bands shows me that people still believe in Organic music. Awesome. (sic)"

Joel is currently busy with the new season of The Voice and spending time with wife Nicole Richie and their kids Harlow and Sparrow.

Thanks to his Twitter followers, it looks like he also has a new hobby to keep him occupied.

"I love the people on twitter for sending me all this new music i'm gonna be busy for the next week... (sic)" he posted.

Despite making it big in the industry, the 34-year-old knows what it's like to start from scratch.

Joel was humbled when he was honoured with his Logie accolade for The Voice.

"I was pretty excited about this award because I've never gotten a TV award. The only awards I could show were ones voted for by fans. [Good Charlotte] were never a big awards band, so I was pretty stoked," he smiled in a recent interview.
