John Bishop reveals audition gaffe

John Bishop revealed he failed to get a part in Mount Pleasant

John Bishop had an awkward moment when he had to interview the cast of a new show which he had tried and failed to get a part in.

The comedian hosted a Sky 1HD season launch and interviewed the cast of Mount Pleasant, and its writer Sarah Hooper.

He then revealed to the crowd: "What people don't know is I went for a part in it and I didn't get it. Now I've got to say well done to you all."

Sarah replied: "You shouldn't have said we were like the Loose Women."

Looking embarrassed, John said he had made the joke after walking into the audition to see four women sitting at a long table.

He added: "We had to pretend I hadn't said anything. I had to read the lines and I could just see them saying 'you can f*** off'."

The part John had auditioned for went in the end to The Street actor Daniel Ryan.

The show, which begins next month, also stars Sally Lindsay and Sian Reeves.

Virgo:

You'll have to make an emotional appeal to your boss. Unless things change, you might have to find another job. You're a very tolerant person, but you can't handle toxic behaviour. A colleague who takes great pleasure in making everyone feel miserable should be reprimanded. Make it clear you aren't the only person who is suffering from their abuse. Explain how this bully is ruining morale. It's a system wide problem that needs to be nipped in the bud.More
