Johnny Depp 'ditches alcohol'

Johnny Depp

Johnny Depp has reportedly been given an ultimatum by his girlfriend Amber Heard, who wants him to quit alcohol.

The 49-year-old actor reportedly began dating his The Rum Diary co-star Amber Heard, 27, last year following his break-up with long-time love Vanessa Paradis.

Following a shaky start to their relationship, Johnny and Amber are now very much together. However, it's been suggested the romance hinges on a request Amber has made.

"She didn't like how much Johnny was drinking and after she threatened to cut off their relationship, Johnny decided to give sobriety a try," a source told Australia's Celebrity Fix.

Spotted drinking non-alcoholic beer at a Rolling Stones show he attended with Amber over the weekend, it seems Johnny is fulfilling his end of the bargain.

But Amber reportedly isn't his only motivation to ditch drink.

The Hollywood hunk is said to be concerned that years of hard partying have taken their toll on his appearance, and recently vowed to live more healthily so his career continues for as long as possible.

"[Johnny]'s raving about the stomach paunch he's lost and how much more clear-headed he is, as his once blotchy skin is improving," the insider revealed.

Johnny has children, Lily Rose, 13, and John, 'Jack', 11, with Vanessa. During their relationship, Vanessa reportedly always wanted the actor to set the best example possible for the youngsters.

Johnny is apparently determined to make things with Amber work.

"Johnny is head over heels for Amber and is eager to please her," continued the source. "He's gushing about how her youthfulness is helping him shape up, emotionally and physically."
