Johnny Depp has 'new lease on life'

Johnny Depp is said to be "immensely relieved" now that his relationship with long-term girlfriend Vanessa Paradis is over.

The couple announced they had split last month after 14 years together but there had been rumours about problems in their relationship since early 2011.

A source told RadarOnline that the Pirates of the Caribbean star is now looking forward to the new chapter in his life.

"Johnny has been saying that he is immensely relieved to finally be out of the relationship with Vanessa, he feels like the weight of the world is off his shoulders," the insider said.

"As they were splitting up and only those close to them knew about it Johnny was struggling with keeping his life hidden.

"Once he and Vanessa admitted that their relationship was over he was able to loosen up and not wallow in misery."

The couple has two children together and will apparently share custody.

"Johnny wants to move on with his life, he's happy dating other women and he's able to do so freely now," the source added. "His relationship with Vanessa was so bad at the end and now he's happy again. He's relieved that it is over and he can move on."
