Jolie's 'plane grounded'
Angelina Jolie reportedly failed to renew her registration on time.
The New York Post reports the actress, who obtained her pilot's license several years ago, failed to renew the aircraft's registration.
"According to FAA documents, the 38-year-old movie star did not file a new airworthiness certificate for her $360,000 red-and-white Cirrus SR-22 before the current certificate expired June 30," the outlet claims.
Angelina's team reportedly sent a renewal application to the FAA but it did not arrive on time.
A letter from the agency was apparently addressed to the actress' Chivan Productions at the beginning of September indicating the registration would not be renewed, although PageSix claims the star seems to have disregarded the notice.
"Despite this, flight records allegedly show the plane was flown in Montana in October. The documents don't indicate who piloted it, but show it was flown without a valid certificate," the gossip column's editors claim.
Angelina has spoken previously about her love of flying, revealing she was inspired to get her license by her eldest son, Maddox.
"Every time Mad sees a plane, he's amazed," she said, according to MailOnline. "If I could actually fly a plane... I'll be like Superman to him."
