Jordin Sparks "couldn't stop crying" when she first saw her new movie.
The actress portrays the eponymous character in Sparkle, which Whitney Houston starred in shortly before her death earlier this year.
Jordin struggled to watch the finished film as it brought back so many memories.
"It was very surreal. It's just so crazy because she'd been working so long on getting this film out and it was so important to her that then to be watching it and knowing she's not here to talk about it, knowing she's not here to really experience it, it's very bittersweet," Jordin told UK TV show Lorraine. "To see her, the first time I saw it, I was a wreck as soon as she walked on screen. I didn't stop crying the entire movie."
Jordin has spoken about bonding with Whitney on set. The 22-year-old was amazed by how nurturing the older star was.
"I was the youngest person on the set and she is a mom… we kind of just gravitated towards each other. She was always asking me if I needed something, or if I was OK. She was very encouraging," Jordin recalled.
