Julianna Margulies considers family friendly job
Julianna Margulies will go back to theatre once her son is old enough not to want her around.
The actress is best known for her portrayal of nurse Carol Hathaway in ER and for playing lawyer Alicia Florrick in The Good Wife. She enjoys working in TV but has other aspirations too.
She hopes to realise them some day, especially as she knows her four-year-old son Kieran will want her out of the house in several years' time.
"When I was single without a child, doing theatre was awesome," she reminisced to WWD.
"But to do a Saturday matinee, Saturday performance and Sunday matinee, I think is very hard on a family life. I hear that when [kids] become high schoolers they don't want you around on the weekends so I figure by then I'll be able to do that."
Kieran is Julianna's son with her husband Keith Lieberthal.
Although her family are supportive of the 45-year-old actress' career, she has hinted she worries she doesn't see them enough. That seems to be part of the reason she has made a future career plan with them in mind.
"I always think there is a life as long as you are willing to work hard and find it," she said, when asked if there is the possibility of a life after The Good Wife. "I've promised my husband and my son that if it belongs in television it will be cable and a half hour because they haven't seen much of me in three years."
