Julianne Hough is taking a break from social media so she can fully enjoy her newly engaged status.

The 27-year-old dancer and actress announced on Tuesday that she is set to wed Canadian hockey player Brooks Laich.

And in a blog post on her official website, Julianne admitted she is still reeling after her 32-year-old spouse to be popped the question.

“Thank you from the bottom of my heart for the outpouring of love and well wishes surrounding my engagement!” Julianne wrote. “This is certainly one of the most exciting times in my life and I am so happy to share it with you all!”

Julianne is an avid user of social media networks, and regularly updates fans on the goings on in her life.

But she added in the blog post that she is planning a short absence from the internet as she revels in her new status as Brooks’ fiancée.

“I’m going to take a slight social media time out to enjoy this special time with my fiance (!)…” Julianne added.

“When I return to writing in a few days, I promise some exclusive details and pics just for you, so stay tuned!”

Julianne and Brooks have been dating since December 2013 after being introduced by a mutual friend. The Dancing with the Stars performer couldn’t wait to share the happy news with her fans on Tuesday.

“We are overwhelmed with joy and excitement to share with you our recent engagement! #fiancé #love, (sic)” she wrote alongside the photograph.

In the image, the dancer can be seen straddle-jumping the 32-year-old while sticking her left hand out towards the camera. Brooks has his back to the camera while a beautiful lake view can be seen behind them.
