Julianne will be ‘blunt and honest’ judge
Julianne Hough will be “blunt and honest” when she appears as a judge on Dancing With The Stars.
The 26-year-old was announced earlier this week as joining the panel for the upcoming series of the ABC reality show.
And fellow professional dancer Mark Ballas thinks she will be a welcome addition to the show.
"I feel great. It's good to have another judge that specialises in this genre,” he told Celebuzz.
“Not all of the judges are professional ballroom dancers, so it's cool to have someone that understands it, that's lived it, that's done it. It should be fun, and she's very blunt and honest so it's going to make good TV."
Mark first achieved fame as a professional dancer alongside Julianne and her brother Derek.
And he admits that is it still baffling for him to understand how famous both he and Derek have become.
“It's kind of crazy because I don't think either of us assumed we would be in this amazing position,” he said. “But, we're the same, we're the exact same as we were before, just older now."
Julianne, who first made a name for herself as a professional dancer on the show alongside brother Derek, said she is thrilled to be given the opportunity to judge.
“I’m excited,” she shared on Good Morning America. “Dancing With the Stars has always been a part of my family. That’s where it all began for me, so .... It just felt like the right time and the right opportunity.”
Julianne will join judges Carrie Ann Inaba, Bruno Tonioli and Len Goodman on the panel.
The 19th season of Dancing With The Stars kicks off on September 15.
