Justin Bieber has been accused of assaulting a paparazzo.
The Canadian singer and his girlfriend Selena Gomez were at a mall called The Commons in Calabasas, California, when the alleged incident occurred yesterday.
It's been claimed the photographer was trying to take pictures of Justin and Selena when the 18-year-old star became irritated and attempted to stop him. A scuffle ensued, with Sheriff's Lieutenant Robert Wiard explaining the paparazzo then called 911.
He alleged his chest was giving him pain and was taken to hospital.
Once police arrived on the scene the pop star couple had already left.
The law enforcement officer explained police will now talk to Justin to find out what happened.
It's been claimed he grew increasingly angry when the photographer wouldn't stop taking his picture. Reports also suggest Justin's car was being blocked, which is when he lost his cool.
"The photographer filed a police report naming Justin as the culprit. Police are investigating the incident as a misdemeanour battery," reports TMZ.
Selena is thought to have tried to ease the situation, as she was spotted whispering into Justin's ear in an effort to calm him. She also helped him recover his hat and one of his shoes, which came off during the incident.
