Kanye 'keen for movie success'

Kanye West reportedly believes he has the "unique" touch the movie industry needs.

The singer has many strings to his bow, producing heaps of successful rap records and also breaking into the design industry.

Now there are reports he's teaming up with his friend Damon Dash to make movies and it doesn't sound as though Kanye has any fears about success.

"Kanye sees himself as an all-round artist now," a source assured British magazine Star.

"He's never satisfied unless he is taking on another project. After successfully branching out into fashion, he feels the next progression should be movies. He thinks he could bring something completely unique."

The 37-year-old is hardly a stranger to the film world, having enjoyed a cameo in The Love Guru and appearing on countless soundtracks.

He's also produced and directed several shorts and worked as executive producer on Kid Cudi's Day 'n' Nite music video.

Should his venture fail, the musician always has his academic side to fall back on. According to French media outlet Clique, Kanye revealed recently he's being awarded an honorary doctorate by the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.

"I was a gifted artist since age five and won national competitions and went to art school," he is thought to have said. "I'm actually getting an honorary doctorate on May 5 from the Art Institute of Chicago."

Keeping busy as ever, he's also been announced as a headliner for the UK's Glastonbury Festival this summer.
