Kate Beckinsale recreates daughter's birth photo
Kate Beckinsale and ex-partner Michael Sheen have posed with 17-year-old daughter Lily Mo to recreate a photo taken after she was born in 1999.
Kate Beckinsale has recreated her daughter Lily's birth photo - 17 years after she was born.
The British actress, her former partner Michael Sheen and their daughter Lily Sheen, re-enacted the moment Kate cradled her newborn daughter for the first time for a hilarious Instagram post on Wednesday (18May16).
It shows the trio in the same positions they were in back in 1999 when Lily arrived, in which a glowing Kate is lying in bed with the infant lying across her chest, while a wild-haired Michael smiles proudly in the background. The 42-year-old Underworld star captioned the cute side-by-side snap: "Always a baby to me #Lily."
And it appears Kate wants to make a tradition out of recreating intimate family snaps, as during an appearance on The Late Late Show with James Corden on Tuesday night (17May16), the brunette beauty unveiled a photo of the family taken on Lily's 16th birthday, in which they recreated the moment Lily was born. The photo shows Kate reclined on a kitchen table with Lily sitting between her legs, while a flustered-looking Michael stands to the side.
"Michael and I thought, y'know, it might be quite nice to recreate the birth in a photo," explained Kate, causing the audience to burst into laughter. "So that's why there's so much effort on my face.., and Lily's doing the 'yikes I'm coming out of a vagina' face and Michael's not doing very much at all, which is quite realistically what the real thing was like."
Kate and Michael were together for eight years before calling it quits in 2003. However, the two remain close and Michael, 47, and his girlfriend Sarah Silverman, 45, even attended the premiere of Kate's new movie Love & Friendship in Los Angeles earlier this month (04May16).
"I love her. I love her. I love her," Kate said of Sarah to E! Online. "I am so glad Michael found her so I don't have to spend the rest of my life looking for her!"
