Kate Bosworth: My future kids will be funny

Kate Bosworth's maternal instincts have kicked in after becoming a step-mother.

The 31-year-old actress married director Michael Polish in August last year after a 12-month engagement. As they approach their first anniversary, the couple are beginning to think about expanding their family.

"I know that it's going to be tough, but Michael and I will find humour in it," she told the UK edition of InStyle. "We're already convinced that our kids will do things that are hilarious."

The Stay Cool director already has a 16-year-old daughter called Jasper from a previous relationship. But it was becoming a step-mom that made Kate's own maternal instincts appear.

"After ordering pizza for the third time when she first started coming over, I knew I had to learn how to cook because I wanted to nurture her. These maternal instincts kicked in," she explained.

The Superman Returns actress met Michael set of Big Sur in 2011. They announced their engagement in August 2012 and married a year later in Philipsburg, Montana.

"It's a place that's so close to our hearts," she previously revealed to British magazine OK!. "The four-day event was so action-packed - there was horseback riding and archery! For our reception dinner, it was important to us to keep it very relaxed, so we had a big barbecue, family-style meal."

The happy couple could have found the perfect home ready for the pitter patter of tiny feet after it was revealed recently that Kate had put her $2.4 million home in the Hollywood Hills on the market after purchasing a new property with her husband.

A source told real estate website that Kate originally listed the home for $2.499 million after buying it for $2.1 million almost nine years ago.
