Kate Hudson ‘keeping it together’

Kate Hudson is constantly assessing how to find balance.

The 34-year-old Wish I Was Here actress is mother to two small children.

And when she finds their spirits are low, Kate takes it as a cue to readjust her own attitude.

“Women are known to be the nurturer of connection and home and keeping it together, so it’s challenging to balance everything,” she explained to The Zoe Report.

"For me personally, I try my best to stay tuned to what I am capable of. I can feel when I’m over-stretching. At those times, it’s really important for me to take a step back and be objective about my capabilities. When my kids show signs of discontent or anxiety, that is when I reassess and rebalance - I can tell if I’m balancing well if my kids are happy."

Kate also finds it rejuvenating to partake in some of her pastimes.

The star confesses doing absolutely nothing is one of her favourite activities.

"One of the things that people don’t know is that I’m a homebody, I love being at home,” she said. “Another thing is that I am completely obsessed with the science of the brain. It’s something my mother has passed on to me and that I'm passionate to learn about. Another thing people don’t know about me is that I’ll eat anything. There is nothing that I won’t try. I’ll try anything, as crazy as it is!"

Kate and Matthew Bellamy, of British rock band Muse, have been engaged since 2011. They have one child, a two-year-old son named Bingham, and Kate is also mother to son Ryder, ten, from a previous relationship.
