Kate Hudson's agent insists there is "nothing going on" between him and the actress.

Kate Hudson's agent has shut down rumours they are dating, insisting they are "very close friends".

On Monday (19Oct15) the blonde beauty and Michael Kives sent the rumour mill into overdrive when they were photographed holding hands in New York. But Michael insisted there was absolutely nothing to the gossip when questioned by TMZ. "We are very close friends," he stated. "No, no, nothing's going on."

Michael isn't the only man 36-year-old Kate has been linked to recently. Also in the mix is Nick Jonas, 23, but Kate is keeping mum for now.

“I don’t like addressing any kind of gossip,” she told talk show host Andy Cohen on Tuesday (20Oct15) when quizzed about the Jealous singer.

However, she was slightly happier to comment on the alleged rumours surrounding Michael. “I mean, my agent has been my mystery man maybe 25 times. You can’t hug someone, talk someone without it being a thing,” she sighed.

Whatever the case, Kate has been in demand since her engagement to Muse rocker Matt Bellamy ended in December 2014. They have four-year-old son Bingham together and she recently revealed how they are making things work post-split for the sake of their child.

"Relationships ending are painful,” she said in an interview with Allure magazine. “And you can choose to carry that or you can choose to reframe it. If Matt and I had a great relationship, we would still be together, but we chose to move on because we had different visions of how we wanted to live our lives.

"That doesn't mean, though, that we can't rebuild something that would be the best thing for the kids."

Kate also shares custody of 11-year-old son Ryder with her ex-husband Chris Robinson.
