Kate Winslet and husband line up baby name

Kate Winslet and her husband Ned Rocknroll will reportedly name their baby ‘Eve’ in honour of the actress’ rescue of his grandmother from a fire on Necker Island in 2011.

The Oscar-winning actress and the nephew of Virgin mogul Sir Richard Branson announced this week they were expecting their first child together.

The pair met on Richard’s private tropical isle Necker Island in 2011. During the holiday Kate rescued Richard’s 89-year-old mother Eve from a fire.

Should the couple have a daughter Kate and Ned know what to name her.

“Eve is one of the names Ned and Kate have thought of,” a source told British newspaper The Sun.

“They want it to mean something and it would be a great reminder of how they met — and keep a strong connection with Ned’s family.”

After tying the knot in December of last year Kate and Ned reportedly set up their marital home in a lovely country cottage in England’s West Sussex county. They also share a house in the UK’s Cornwall region.

Apparently the homes are both too small for their rapidly expanding family.

“They want a bigger house for when the baby arrives,” the insider said.

Kate has two other children from previous relationships.

The actress spoke previously about how she rescued Eve from certain death in August 2011.

Lightning struck the multi-million-pound Necker Island mansion guests were staying in during a tropical hurricane.

When the building caught fire Kate helped her two children and Richard’s elderly mother escape the flames.

"I grabbed the children and I picked up granny,” she explained during an interview on Graham Norton’s UK TV show. “We were at the top of some slippery stone steps."
