Kate’s ‘split advice’ from Gwyneth and Chris
Kate Hudson and former fiancé Matt Bellamy are apparently taking notes from Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin on “consciously uncoupling”.
The 35-year-old Wish I Was Here actress and fiancé, Muse frontman Matt Bellamy, formally announced their split on Monday. And now it’s thought they’re getting advice from the pair who famously “consciously uncoupled” in March of this year.
“Matt and Kate modeled their separation on Chris and Gwyneth,” a source told British newspaper The Sun. “They had several individual meetings with both, seeking advice on how to handle the split plus keep things as normal as possible for their kids.”
Kate and Matt have one child together, three-year-old son Bingham. The couple called off their engagement more than three and a half years after Matt proposed to Kate, and a rep confirmed as much this week.
"Kate and Matt have been separated for some time now," People magazine was told. "Despite this, they remain very close friends and committed co-parents."
The daughter of Goldie Hawn hasn’t been seen wearing her engagement ring since early November. In addition, the couple have been spending a lot of time apart recently, with Matt opting not to attend Kate’s Thanksgiving celebrations. He was instead seen out in London.
It’s claimed fear of inevitable marriage dissolution is what contributed to Kate’s decision to end the engagement.
“Kate doesn't ever want to get divorced again, and she wasn't sure marriage with Matt was the right choice,” an insider told X17online. “There is still a lot of love there, and they plan to amicably co-parent their son. Who knows what the future holds for them, but right now it's not a wedding.”
