Katherine Heigl: My kids rock
Katherine Heigl can’t help but think her kids are the greatest and also shares a close bond with her own mother
The blonde actress has two children with husband Josh Kelley, adopted daughters Naleigh and Adalaide.
Prior to becoming a mother Katherine didn’t think having children would faze her too much, and she was sure people over exaggerated with how impressed they were with their own kids. But she’s since changed her tune.
“I didn't think I was going to be one of those moms who think that their kids are the GREATEST. You listen to your friends, and your parents' friends, and you think, 'Oh my god, do none of you realise that you all think your kid is the best?!' And then I had kids and I was like, alright, my kids truly are the best kids,” Katherine laughed to E! News.
Having a strong relationship with her girls has always been important to the former Grey’s Anatomy actress as she is extremely close to her own mother.
In fact her mom Nancy, whom who eldest is named after, works as executive producer on Katherine’s new show, political drama State of Affairs.
“My mom and I always have gotten along really well. I don't know why except I think that we're sort of like-minded. I've always had a lot of respect and faith in my mother, and I find her to be one of the most remarkable women I've ever met,” she said as way of explaining to why they work well together.
“I absolutely get mad at my mother and we fight. She's hung up on me once or twice and I wanted to kill her. But we have this short hand with each other, and a lot of mutual respect, and my mom has always treated me like my opinion and my ideas and my thoughts matter. So it was never like a dictatorship, or even like how I am with my kids.”
