Kathy Griffin to score The View job?
Kathy Griffin could become a guest-host on The View, say sources.
The flame-haired comedian hit headlines recently after quitting E!'s Fashion Police following a furore caused by co-host Giuliana Rancic.
Fashion Police regular Kelly Osbourne also walked out of the show after Giuliana said teen star Zendaya's dreadlocks looked like they smelled of weed at the Oscars.
However, after an appearance on The View last week, bosses think Kathy would be a hit on their show.
"She was great and has Whoopi [Goldberg, The View co-host]’s backing. Whoopi loves Kathy,” and insider divulged to New York Daily News. "The View would be a perfect fit if Kathy wanted to fly to New York weekly. It’s a Monday-through-Thursday job and she can tour on the weekends, the best two nights to sell tickets.”
The View is a long-running daytime talk show, with Rosie O'Donnell, Rosie Perez and Nicolle Wallace also sharing host duties. Kathy has even served as a guest-host previously, standing in for Rosie O’Donnell when she took a break from the show in 2007.
The 54-year-old was a hit with Fashion Police fans when she succeeded the late Joan Rivers in the role, but later admitted she didn't enjoy ripping apart people's red-carpet outfits.
And it seems Kathy's popularity hasn't gone unnoticed.
"[Kathy] is welcome back to The View anytime and is a great friend of the show. Her name has been tossed around, yes. She’s opinionated in a smart way and not argumentative for the sake of it," another source revealed.
