Katie Holmes hopes the latest reports about her divorce will open people's eyes to what went on, it has been claimed.

The actress split from Tom Cruise last year, with the terms of their separation agreed in a speedy ten days. Tom is in the process of suing two American magazine for claiming he abandoned his seven-year-old daughter Suri with Katie and during questioning admitting Scientology was one of the reasons for the break-up. This had long been suspected, with claims Katie didn't want her daughter involved with the controversial religion.

"As happy as Suri seems now, I'm sure Katie worries about people thinking she's a bad mother for taking her daughter away from her dad. But now Tom acknowledges that it seemed to be a bid to keep Suri safe, I imagine she feels certain she did the right thing," an insider told Look magazine.

Tom was quizzed on various aspects of his parenting style, with his answers made public via RadarOnline. He admitted not being there for Suri's first day of school, insisting he would have been had she asked him. The actor also spoke of keeping in touch with Katie via email and reading Suri stories over the phone when he is away shooting movies.

"Now Tom has opened up, Katie must feel stronger than ever. Hopefully everyone will finally see that her actions were for the right reasons. I'm sure she doesn't regret the time she spent with Tom, but she can't regret leaving either," the source said.
