Katie Holmes is 'awesome' working mom

Katie Holmes

Katie Holmes is an "awesome mom" according to her co-star Judy Greer.

The former Dawson's Creek actress appears alongside Judy in Broadway show Dead Accounts.

Katie has been looking after her daughter Suri since she split with Tom Cruise and according to her colleague, she has an impressive way of balancing her work and personal life.

"I've just been impressed by her work ethic ...and her ability...to juggle being an awesome mom," Judy marvelled to Vanity Fair.

"I mean, she's always like, 'I went to Suri's class this morning, I was reading to the first-graders.' And I'm like...'I can barely schedule in a workout and getting to rehearsal, and I'm just here by myself in an apartment.'[She] works out every day, she's cooking dinner at night...she manages to go and get [Suri] a new dress if she has a special thing [and is] going to her lessons after school."

Earlier this year Katie announced she had filed for divorce from Tom and the couple mutually agreed the actress would have primary custody of Suri.

Katie has been extremely busy with her acting, but Judy reckons she knows the secret to her seemingly endless energy - caffeine.

"I've rarely seen her without a giant cup of coffee...I will say that," she smiled.

Katie has been praised in the past for her positive attitude during rehearsals for Dead Accounts and the way she has bonded with her co-stars.

However, Judy joked their only ritual is getting together for bathroom breaks.

"I should say we all light candles and we gather around and say a prayer...to the theatre gods. No, it's usually so we can pee," she laughed.
