Katie Holmes has reportedly hired a New York date doctor to help her "get her confidence back".

The actress has allegedly sought the assistance of a 'date-ologist' to advise her on how to find love again.

Katie is rumoured to have made the decision to seek professional dating help after she turned 34 at the end of last year.

"It was after her birthday at the end of December that Katie decided it was time to give her love life a different approach," a source explained to British magazine Grazia. "She's had one-to-one sessions and the occasional phone session, and she's learning how to approach people, as well as dating and flirting tips to get her confidence back."

Since her divorce from Tom Cruise in July last year, Katie has been linked to her former fiancé Chris Klein and actor Jake Gyllenhaal, although neither reports have been confirmed as being true. Katie's struggle to get back on the dating scene will hopefully be made easier thanks to the date-ologist's methods and advice to overcome these hurdles. At the end of her marriage, Katie used a confidence coach to support her as she moved into her single life in New York. The star reportedly hopes her date doctor will have the same success when it comes to her love life this time.

"With a little bit of help, Katie now feels that she's armed with enough confidence to start dating again and take that next step to finding her perfect partner," the source finished.
