Katie Holmes reportedly thinks there might be "potential" to her relationship with Jeremy Strong.

The two stars appeared in the 2010 movie The Romantics together and were recently spotted enjoying a day out in New York City.

Although they aren't dating at the moment, it's thought things could get serious in the future.

"They're just friends, but there's potential. He's the first man who has made Katie smile and who she has felt comfortable with in a long time," a source told British magazine Closer.

Katie recently got divorced from Tom Cruise after five years of marriage. She is still coping with her new single status and doesn't feel ready to rush into another romance yet.

"Spending time with Jeremy was a big step for Katie," the insider added. "It shows how much she trusts him. She knows all eyes are on her and she's taking things slowly. They've bonded over their love of the theatre and have hit it off too."
