Katie splits from Argentine lover

Katie Price attended the Skyfall premiere alone

Katie Price has said she and boyfriend Leandro Penna have "mutually" decided to end their relationship but will remain friends.

The pair met when model Katie attended the Oscars in February last year.

She said the split was "sad" news, and said spending so much time apart from her Argentinian lover - known as Leo - meant it had been difficult for their relationship to "move forward".

In a message on her website, she said: "Leo and I have had a lovely fun time for a couple of years, we will always feel deep affection for each other, but sometimes relationships just run their course.

"Pressures of work on different continents, natural demands of family ties, and careers, have meant we have spent a huge amount of time apart even when we were in the same country. This meant it was difficult for the relationship to move forward."

She went on: "Accordingly we've mutually decided to call it a day, but we really wish each other nothing but the very best and will remain best of friends, whoever he eventually settles down with will be a very lucky girl."

Katie attended the premiere of new James Bond film Skyfall last night at London's Royal Albert Hall alone.

There have been reports she sent flirty messages to X Factor contestant Dan Ferrari-Lane from the group District 3.

But a statement issued on her behalf said the suggestion was "utterly ridiculous". It went on: "This has nothing to do with the ending of Kate and Leo's relationship and her contact with the boy band member has been entirely innocent and platonic."
