Katy Perry apparently believes US President Barack Obama won the election thanks to her "lucky panties".
Obama achieved a second term in office this week, having beaten competitor Mitt Romney.
Katy presented the politician with a pair of novelty Y-fronts with his face on them shortly before his victory.
"She was delighted when she got to hand him a pair at a political rally just before he won," a source told British newspaper The Sun.
"Katy's been saying he won because of the lucky panties."
The 28-year-old star picked up the unusual underwear from British firm Twisted Twee after spotting it while on a trip to Hampstead, London.
Katy was so delighted with her find that she splashed out £200 on a dozen of the funny pairs of underwear.
The Teenage Dream singer has been showing her support for the Democratic Party throughout the lead up to the election.
Katy's political ideologies were even reflected in her fashion sense last month when she performed at a rally for Obama in a dress designed to look like a ballot paper.
The star belted out five of her hits at the concert and urged Americans to get their votes in early.
