Keira crummy at guitar

Keira Knightley thinks she is "terrible" at playing guitar after her husband James Righton taught her for upcoming film Can a Song Save Your Life?

The Atonement actress tied the knot with Klaxons musician James Righton in the south of France in May. For her role as Greta in upcoming film Can a Song Save Your Life? Keira had to learn guitar and turned to her husband for help.

However, she struggled to pick up the techniques despite James' efforts.

"He helped me try to learn the guitar, and I don't think he'll ever do that again," she laughed to People magazine. "I'm terrible, and he may have found it too stressful."

After watching the finished project at the 2013 Toronto International Film Festival over the weekend Keira has vowed to not touch the instrument again. Seeing the effect the playing had on her fingers she will instead settle for listening to James demonstrate his musical talent.

"My fingers looked awful. They were callused and looked disgusting," she complained. "I stopped playing and tried going back to it, but my fingers hurt too much, so I'm not going to do it again. I'll let him do all the playing."

The movie follows a disillusioned music executive who forms a friendship with a young singer-songwriter.

Aside from the awkward music lessons, the 28-year-old star is over the moon with married life. The couple were introduced by a mutual friend in 2011 and the keyboard player popped the question in May 2012.

When asked what it felt like to be a newlywed Keira couldn't stop herself from gushing about how wonderful it felt.

"It's fantastic!" she exclaimed. "I'm very happy."
