Keira's trashy novel confession

Keira Knightley can’t concentrate on intense books while filming.

The 29-year-old actress stars alongside Adam Levine in musical movie Begin Again about a young woman trying to make it in the music industry. She didn’t have much time to relax on set, but usually the British star likes to get stuck into an easy read.

“Well, on a film like this there isn’t a lot of waiting. We had 24 days, so it was just like, go, go, go,” she explained to the British edition of OK! magazine when asked what she does in her trailer between scenes.

“Normally what do I do? I have a cup of tea and I like book tapes or really trashy novels, because you can’t read something difficult when you’re working on something else.”

Adam, 35, is best known as the lead singer in Maroon 5 and for his work on US talent show The Voice. Begin Again is his first feature film, but luckily Keira was on hand to help him out.

“Yes, I broke him in, that’s right,” she laughed “I’d actually seen him live and that energy makes an experience. He’s a born entertainer, so I wasn’t worried about him expressing himself.”

However, once he was on set, the star didn’t need any concrete tips from the Oscar nominated actress.

“He didn’t need any!” she exclaimed. “He’s a natural actor and a very lovely man to work with, so it was a lot of fun.”

Begin Again also stars Hailee Steinfeld and Mark Ruffalo.
