Kelly Macdonald goes to Central Park when she is feeling homesick.
The Scottish actress has spent a lot of time in America since landing a role in US TV show Boardwalk Empire. Kelly loves being in the US, but sometimes misses her homeland. She loves taking her four-year-old son Freddie to New York City's famous park to boost her flagging spirits.
"In summer my son and I eat French bread, cheese and olives here," she said of her trips to Central Park. "It makes me feel closer to Europe."
Kelly plays Margaret Schroeder in Boardwalk Empire and has formed a close bond with her co-stars.
The 36-year-old star has revealed the cast enjoy playing Words with Friends in between scenes and there is always a healthy rivalry.
"I play this game with my Boardwalk Empire co-star Vincent Piazza," she explained to the September issue of UK magazine Marie Claire. "He's vicious!"
Kelly has also voiced the character of Merida in the new animated movie Brave.
She has always had a passion for acting as she loves dressing up and embracing different characters.
One of her favourite times of the year is Halloween and Kelly relishes experimenting with clothes in her eclectic wardrobe for the spooky holiday.
"I dressed up as Calamity Jane for Halloween once," she recalled. "And I didn't have to buy a thing - it was all in my wardrobe!"
