Kelly Osbourne had a near miss with her new dog earlier today.

Kelly Osbourne is breathing a sigh of relief after almost locking her new puppy in a washing machine.

The TV personality added a new addition to her family after rescuing the pooch from its mean handler in Los Angeles over the weekend (07-08Nov15).

"I just rescued this puppy from a man who was trying to illegally sell her on Laurel Canyon while walking into oncoming traffic and shoving her through people's car windows," she shared with fans on Instagram, alongside a snap of her new furry friend. "The poor baby is still shaking. What the f**k is wrong with people?"

However, Kelly's doggy drama continued on Monday (09Nov15) when the dog went missing - and ended up bundled in her pile of laundry.

"This morning while I was doing laundry I could not find her," she recalls. "I freaked out. Then I heard a tiny sneeze I lifted up a pillow case & there she was all tucked up in my sheets that I was just about to wash (sic)!"

"I would have never forgiven myself if I accidentally put her in the washing machine," the panicked star continues. "My hands are still shaking!"

The news emerges hours after Kelly thanked fans for their support for her new pet.

"(Look) how much better she is today!!!!" she noted on Sunday evening (08Nov15). "It's amazing how 12 hours of love can change things. My rescue (who is yet to be named) & I want to THANK YOU for your well wishes/support. You guys are the best".

Kelly isn't the only family lover in the family - her mother, rock matriarch Sharon Osbourne, has seven dogs, which she shows off on her website, and one lone cat, appropriately called Puss. She frequently takes her Pomeranian Bella to work with her on U.S. daytime show The Talk.
