Kermit: Fey lick caused me bother
Kermit the Frog has revealed the exact source of tension between Miss Piggy and Tina Fey on the set of Muppets Most Wanted.
The green screen star featured in Muppets Most Wanted with the rest of the gang, with A-list actors making an appearance too. The likes of Ricky Gervais, Lady Gaga and Salma Hayek had roles, but it was Tina's turn as Nadya that caused the biggest stir for the amphibian.
"There was some tension. Miss Piggy was not happy when Tina kissed me or when she licked me. There was a scene in the movie where she licked me," Kermit recalled USA TODAY.
"It was purely innocent. We did a closed set. We all wore robes until the last second. It was fine. And Tina's husband was there. But Piggy doesn't like to see me get licked."
Kermit and Miss Piggy have been an item since The Muppets first debuted in 1976.
While the porky puppet is prone to jealousy, her frog lover did little to quash rumours of other flings.
When he was quizzed on his links to Guardians of the Galaxy character Gamora, Kermit couldn't help but gush.
"You know how rumours get started. She is very attractive. Gamora is beautiful. She makes being green easy.
"But I understand it's not just me actually, all the green guys in Hollywood are after her. That's me, and Yoda and The Incredible Hulk," Kermit revealed.
And on the subject of green stars, Kermit couldn't hide his disappointment with frogs not being considered over turtles for new film Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
"We could have done that. We [frogs] are more defenceless since we don't have a shell.
"But I do a pretty good turtle impression," he added.
