Kerr: Jumping lifts my mood

Miranda Kerr claims happiness is a "choice" it is easy to make each day.

The Australian model prides herself on her positive nature and tries to see the good in everything. That means that even when things are tough, she refuses to be defeated.

"If I'm having a challenging moment, I jump for joy. Literally. After a minute, I feel better, and after a few minutes, I'm really happy," she told Self magazine.

"Everything else just drops off. It gets me out of my head and into my body, and it makes me feel present."

The 30-year-old Victoria's Secret star shows off her toned body on the cover of the magazine, wearing just a pair of tiny blue briefs and a cropped sweater.

Although she works hard to be happy, times have been difficult for the model of late. She and her husband Orlando Bloom have confirmed their separation, although they are determined to remain civil for the sake of their two-year-old son Flynn.

Miranda still insists being negative is just a state of mind though.

"Happiness is a choice we make," she claimed. "You can wake up and say, 'Oh, I can't believe it's so cold,' or you can say, 'Oh, wow, this is a great opportunity for me to try out my new sweater.' No one can be consistently positive, but why not make the choice that makes you feel better rather than the one that drags you down?"

The model advises looking after your body to help achieve true happiness. She watches what she eats, feasting on things like lentil soup, pine nuts and kale.

Miranda also has a special saying she reminds herself of whenever she is feeling down.

"'I am a being of light and love, and I radiate that to everyone I meet.' It helps me keep things joyful," she explained.
