Khloé K ‘too upset to attend North’s bday party’
Khloé Kardashian supposedly decided to skip out on attending her niece North West’s birthday party because she is overcome with grief over the death of her friend Jamie Sangouthai.
The 30-year-old reality star’s friend Jamie Sangouthai passed away at the age of 37 in a downtown Los Angeles hospital on Sunday, and TMZ previously reported he may have died from a heroin overdose.
Khloé‘s sister Kim’s daughter North celebrated turning two years old at Disneyland on Monday, but her aunt was allegedly too overcome with grief to attend.
"Khloé was too upset over Jamie dying," a source told E! News. "She wasn't there."
But her absence didn’t seem to impact North’s celebration adversely. North’s aunties Kendall Jenner, Kylie Jenner, Kourtney Kardashian, her cousin Mason Disick, grandmother Kris Jenner, mother Kim and father Kanye West were all present at the theme park in honour of the tot’s big day.
Before she filed for divorce from Lamar in December 2013, Khloé spent a lot of time hanging out with Jamie.
And it’s claimed Khloé’s ex is also suffering heavily from the loss of his best friend, who he’s known since high school.
Apparently the former LA Lakers basketball player is grieving so heavily, Lamar drowned his sorrows with narcotics on an airplane while travelling to Los Angeles to attend his friend’s funeral.
“Lamar had two shots of vodka and he told the flight attendant ‘Vodka and Xanax and I should wake up there,'” an eyewitness told Radar Online. “And he was talking on the phone and told that person that he took Xanax and took two shots.
“He was singing Sade out loud while he was listening to his headphones and he was all over the place.
“He went to the bathroom three times. He jumped up as soon as the seatbelt light went off and went straight to the bathroom. It was a really bumpy flight and a flight attendant asked if he could make it back to his seat or if he wanted to use their jump seat. He didn’t sit there; he just kept playing with the seat, pushing it up and down and laughing.”
