Khloé Kardashian ‘fired from X Factor’
Khloé Kardashian has reportedly been fired as co-host of The X Factor US after only one season.
The reality television star signed on to co-host Simon Cowell’s television singing competition last year with TV veteran Mario Lopez.
But Khloé is said to have been booted by producers after only one season on the air.
“They are asking Mario Lopez to come back, but not Khloé,” a source told the New York Post.
Khloé was confirmed as Mario’s co-host last October following weeks of speculation.
The 28-year-old did not have any prior television hosting experience and had her share of stumbles during the gig.
Khloé won headlines during her X Factor debut when she dressed in a sheer blouse that exposed the star’s breasts under the harsh lighting of the Los Angeles sound stage.
She later made viewers squirm when she sat on Simon’s lap, asking him if he felt “excited” about the evening’s performances.
X Factor executives have declined to comment on reports of her exit.
Khloé previously spoke of her nerves before her new gig got underway. She offered what now appears to be a premonition when speaking to American radio show host Ryan Seacrest about the job last October.
"I've never hosted before," she said. "I mean, what if I get kicked off the show because I say something so bad? That is what I'm nervous about, but listen, I can't be anyone else but myself. I just have to control the language a little bit."
Khloé is not the first on-air talent to exit the programme after the last season.
X Factor judges Britney Spears and L.A. Reid announced last year they would not be returning.
The new judging panel has yet to be announced.
