Khloé Kardashian gives back
Khloé Kardashian is raising awareness about a slain mother-of-five on her social media accounts.
The 29-year-old has been engrossed with her own personal drama as rumours continue to circulate her marriage to basketball player Lamar Odom is on the rocks.
Khloé's Instagram page became the subject of controversy Monday as it emerged she had quietly deleted her husband's last name from her account, fuelling the gossip.
The reality star declined to acknowledge the controversy but instead turned the attention on her page to the plight of a family in mourning.
"Meet Martha Sanchez, 39 year old mother of 5 who was gunned down last Tuesday in South Central, LA while working at a 99 cent store," Khloé captioned an image of the woman, describing how she was killed during a robbery.
"This story was brought to me by a friend. Immediately my heart broke for her loved ones. Now Martha leaves behind a husband and five children," Khloé continued, adding that she is among those pledging money.
"@thedocumentary, @Lala, @gwadpot and myself are donating $20,000 to assist the family with funeral costs as well as any other arrangements they may need in such a tragic occurrence." the star continued in part.
A source meanwhile told British magazine Closer this week Khloé is preparing to file for divorce from Lamar following rumours of drug abuse and infidelity on his part.
The reality star has so far declined to comment publicly on the status of their marriage.
