Kidman: Daughter tries to influence Keith
Nicole Kidman joined a band “to meet boys”.
The Australian actress has been married to the country singer and reality show judge since 2006. The couple have two children, Sunday Rose, six and Faith Margaret, four and Nicole has confessed that her eldest tries to play a part in Keith’s job.
“Sunday particularly does,” she said when asked about the singing hopefuls during an appearance on Live with Kelly and Michael. “Sunday Rose has a lot of influence!”
Both daughters try their best to get their father to keep their favourites in the show. But being so small, they don’t always base their choices on vocal ability.
“She's six, she's into long hair and its not necessarily the voice that Sunday responds to, and they love blonde hair anyone who looks a bit like Ariel,” she added with a laugh.
The 47-year-old joined the panel in 2012 and sat alongside Jennifer Lopez and Harry Connick Jr. on the last season.
Keith isn’t the only musician in the family however, with his 47-year-old spouse singing in hit film Moulin Rouge and recording a duet with Robbie Williams in 2001.
And during her chat, Nicole opened up about the musical performances she had before hitting the big time on the silver screen.
“I was in a band where I sang backups just because it was kind of fun and I wanted to meet boys!” she confessed. “Not because I had any talent.”
With this in mind, Nicole’s response when asked if she would ever audition for American Idol didn’t really come as a surprise.
“No no no,” she replied with a laugh.
