Kidman: I wanted more kids with Keith
Nicole Kidman feels like she can live a “real life” in Nashville, Tennessee.
The Oscar winning actress has been married to the singer for nine years and together they have two daughters. Nicole was previously married to Tom Cruise for ten years but admitted she would have liked to have met her current spouse sooner so they could have had a bigger family.
“I wish I could have met him much earlier and had way more children with him," she confessed to the American edition of Vogue. "But I didn’t. I mean, if I could have had two more children with him, that would have been just glorious. But as Keith says, 'The wanting mind, Nicole. Shut it down.'"
The couple have Sunday Rose, seven and four-year-old Faith together, while Nicole also has adopted children Isabella Jane and Connor from her marriage to Tom.
The 48-year-old believes it’s important to speak openly about the different ways in which she has had her children so that women don’t feel like it’s a taboo subject.
“I've experienced adoption. I've experienced birth with a genetic child. I've experienced surrogacy with a genetic child," she explained, having had Faith via a surrogate in 2010. "I speak openly about it because so many of my friends are discussing it. It’s important for other women to go, 'I get it!'"
Nicole and Keith, 47, reside in Nashville, Tennessee with their girls. For the actress, it’s gave her chance to lead a relatively normal life despite her success and fame.
“I can read here," she said of her reasons to live there opposed to Hollywood. "I can write here. I can hike. I can take my kids to school. I can live the way I've always wanted to live ... A life. A real life."
