Kim Kardashian 'begged for her life before being bound and gagged at gunpoint' during Paris robbery
Kim Kardashian reportedly begged for her life during an armed robbery in Paris.
The reality tv star (35) was held at gunpoint by two armed raiders dressed as police officers as they stole an estimated €9m worth of jewellery.
Kim was in Paris for Fashion Week with her family, but her two children North (three) and Saint (nine months) West weren't in the room and her mother Kris Jenner and sister Kourtney Kardashian were held in protective custody after news of the robbery broke.
"She begged for them to let her live and [said] she has babies at home. Then they wrapped her mouth in tape and put her in the bathtub," a source told E! News.
"She thought they were for sure going to kill her," the source says.
After the men escaped with her jewels - including a jewellery box worth €6m and ring worth €3m - they escaped on bikes and have not been apprehended by police.
Kim "broke out of her bindings and got out" when she was alone in the room and fled Paris in the early hours of Monday morning on a private jet.
Her bodyguard was with her older sister Kourtney at the The Peninsula Hotel during the break-in and the fivesome gained access after the concierge permitted them access to the building thinking they were police. They then handcuffed him and forced him to allow them to Kardashian's room.
The mother-of-two was staying at a private residence where she has previously stayed with husband Kanye West before their 2014 wedding.
The Paris apartment block is a discreet building behind the city's Madeleine church, with several secret entrances, often frequented by movie and music stars who pay up to €15,000 a night.
As news of the event spread, West abruptly ended a performance in New York less than an hour into his set.
"I'm sorry I have a family emergency, I have to stop the show," West told the audience in video tweeted by fans at the Meadows Festival in Queens.
A spokesperson for the star confirmed she was "badly shaken", adding she is "not physically hurt".
"Kim Kardashian West was held up at gunpoint inside her Paris hotel room this evening by two armed masked men dressed as police officers," he said.
Her younger sister Kendall Jenner, who was in Paris for a number of fashion shows, immediately made her way to her sister's apartment after a night of partying, while Kourtney and her mother Kris Jenner stayed at their hotel.
Kim has yet to publicly comment on the incident.
Meanwhile, James Corden and Chrissy Teigen are among the celebrities to rally to her defence after she was trolled when news of the burglary broke.
Following news of the robbery, many Twitter users took to their social media accounts to reflect on the incident, with cruel comments including one which read: "Did she get shot? No? Too bad."
But The Late Late Show host James was quick to jump to the defence of the Keeping Up With the Kardashians beauty, writing on his own Twitter page: "People making jokes about @KimKardashian tonight would do well to remember that she's a mother, a daughter, a wife, a friend. Be nice or shut up."
The 38-year-old wasn't the only famous face to back Kim after the shocking situation.
Model-turned-author Chrissy Teigen, who is a close friend of Kim's, also slammed those trolling her pal, tweeting: "Fame is interesting. Celebs are supposed to love you guys while also knowing you'd make a meme of our dead bodies to get retweets."
