Kim Kardashian says posing for Playboy magazine was an “independence thing”.
The glamorous socialite rose to fame through the popular reality series Keeping Up with the Kardashians. She has since entered into a number of projects on her own and is even set to release a music album this year.
But Kim argues that, because she is a family person, getting naked for the famous magazine is the most liberating thing she has done.
“It was an independence thing for me. I was always by the book, such the straight arrow when it came to pleasing my parents and being a good daughter,” the 30-year-old told Glamour magazine. “I felt like this was one decision that only I could make"
The American also said she has only recently begun to feel comfortable in her own body. She admits that in the past she has pretended to be more confident than she actually was.
“It's a process. You have to learn to accept it," Kim added, talking about self esteem. "You have to learn to like what you see in the mirror. There are definitely times when I don't feel like myself, but you have to fake it until you make it."
