Kim Kardashian testifies about Paris robbery
Under French law, the mother-of-two will not have to return to Paris for the criminal case.
Kim Kardashian has relived the horror of her 2016 Paris robbery ordeal in her testimony to a French judge at a meeting in New York City.
The reality TV star was bound, gagged, and held at gunpoint as masked men ransacked her suite at the No Name Hotel in October (16), and swiped valuables worth more than $10 million (£7.9 million).
French authorities arrested 17 people in connection to the crime last month (Jan17) and subsequently filed charges against 10 suspects.
As part of the criminal case against the suspected robbers, prosecutors have travelled to the U.S. with a French judge to take Kim's testimony, which was recorded in New York on Wednesday (01Feb17).
Under French law, judges are allowed to travel to victims in high-profile criminal cases to conduct interviews, while the victims also do not have to undergo cross-examination by defence lawyers.
According to TMZ.com Kim attempted to identify the two attackers who held her hostage in her hotel room, and another insider tells Entertainment Tonight the 36-year-old was surprised at all the arrests made in connection to the robbery.
"Kim wasn't aware of how many people were actually involved in the heist until all the men were arrested," the source explained. "She thought there were only (the) two who were in her room that night."
"It's reassuring for Kim to now know the entire scenario."
And while "reliving that night is hard" for Kim, she is thankful detectives are making good progress.
"She wants this to be over, but is happy that justice is finally being served," the insider added.
The TV beauty was accompanied on the Big Apple trip by her two young children, North and Saint, while her husband, rapper Kanye West, remained on the West Coast.
Kim recently opened up about the robbery in a trailer for the upcoming season of her family's reality show, Keeping Up With the Kardashians, and in the footage, the mother-of-two broke down in tears as she recounted the attack to sisters Khloe and Kourtney.
"'They're going to shoot me in the back. There's no way out'," she recalled of her frantic thoughts at the time. "It makes me so upset to think about it."
Kim's terrifying experience prompted her to take a break from the spotlight for the remainder of 2016, but she resumed her promotional duties with a trip to Dubai, United Arab Emirates in January (17).
